Yoga Class Descriptions
Unless otherwise noted, classes are one and a half hours in length.
Beginners' Yoga You can begin to experience the many benefits
of yoga in this introductory class. Hatha yoga consists of postures, conscious
breathing practices, deep relaxation and meditation. You will increase your
flexibility, balance and create greater strength in your core, as well as overall
musculature and bones. Yoga will also help you to access a centered, peaceful
place in your mind and heart; thereby, inspiring you to align with Spirit.
Beyond Beginners Perfect for those who are
balancing the many demands of family life and work/career challenges.
Learn or refresh techniques to renew body, mind and spirit. This program provides a solid foundation
for beginning students and brings seasoned students back to the basics. We will help you to build a foundation of balance and stability that will
enable you to weather stress more effectively. Experience a more easeful body
and a more peaceful mind!
Relax, Move and Heal Some yoga poses taste a little bit sweeter than others.
And if yoga were a smorgasbord, restorative postures would most definitely be at the dessert table.
In an ideal world every yoga posture would feel restorative. But those that fall into the special category
of restorative poses have a particular ability to leave us feeling well rested and self-nourished.
In this special
class, you will be rewarded with the ability to drop with ease into a place of deep contentment.
This is what yoga is all about, after all: stilling our fidgety bodies and calming our rambling
minds so that we may rest quietly in the present moment and see clearly the peace that resides within.
NEW! Building a Bridge to Presence One of the best postures for awakening the senses to the here-and-now is
Bridge Pose, a beginning backbend that strengthens the legs and hips, massages the spine, and opens the heart.
Methodical practice of this asana also offers an opportunity to explore the body and its movements with
attention and care. In the process, the mind is calmed and the body becomes energized, leaving the practitioner
feeling revitalized and refreshed. Date TBA Join me as we explore ways to bridge the gap
between body & mind. Contact us if you are interested in this class.
We look forward to offering you this and other programs in the future.
